Counselling & Consultancy

Counselling

Counselling can help those who are finding things difficult in their lives. It can help you to better understand what isn’t working well in your life, or what doesn’t feel right, and help you to decide what and how you want to change.

I will provide a confidential space, with no judgement, so you can safely explore your thoughts, feelings and worries, whatever you have been holding onto, and whatever they might be.

For more information about the areas I specialise in, please check out the About Me page.

What does it involve?

Prior to our first session, I will ask you to complete an assessment form, to decide what kind of counselling you would like, and to agree to a counselling contract.

I offer different options, depending on your needs and budget:

  • twice a week, weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions
  • varying session lengths – 30, 50 or 90 minutes per session – longer session times are beneficial for those who need more time to process or a slower session pace

I also offer single session therapy, or a pre-set block of sessions, which can be useful to work through a clear or specific issue.

Consultancy

I offer consultancy to teachers, carers and parents around how to support young neurodivergent people at home or in the school environment. This differs from therapy, but can often involve some therapeutic support, as the issues discussed can be very emotional for those involved – for example, many parents come to me because they are out of ideas, they need guidance or advice, or they’re not sure why ‘traditional’ (aka neurotypical) parenting strategies aren’t working.

During these sessions, I would first gather information, listen to your concerns, then help with identifying potential causes or triggers for your child or young person, and help you to identify possible solutions. This would usually range from a single session to four sessions for the initial stage, depending on the complexity of your needs, after which I would usually work with parents or educators for half-hour follow-up sessions, as and when requested by you.

During the initial phase, the sessions are followed up with a written plan of what was discussed, including any support modifications or strategies, so that you have a written record to refer to. I will also send updated documents as and when required, off the basis of future discussions together.

How much does it cost?

Therapy sessions

I offer a sliding fee scale, to make therapy more accessible financially to a wider range of people.

Before your first session, let me know what you wish to pay between the scales listed below. If you want to make a change to your fee, within the scale – higher or lower, at any time, no reason required – just drop me an email in advance of your next session.

Session fees (inclusive of MOMS/VAT) for remote therapy, in-person sessions at my office, or outdoors therapy in and around Bromma, Hässleby and Järfälla are as follows:

  • 750-1,000 SEK for a 30-minute session
  • 1,000 to 2,000 SEK for a 50-minute session
  • 1,500 to 3,000 SEK for a 90-minute session

Consultancy sessions

These sessions are priced at 3,000 SEK per hour, which includes the follow up of all written documentation. Alternatively, if money is tight, you can select from the therapy fee scale, but you receive only the session, and you will need to write up your own notes throughout and after.
