Counselling

Counselling is a form of help for those who are finding things difficult for whatever reason. It can help you to better understand what isn’t working very well in your life, and decide what and how you want to change.

Gestalt counselling focuses on how you feel, think or do things in the present moment. It holds the view that people are linked to and influenced by their environments, and that all people strive towards growth and balance in their lives. In my practice I use a range of techniques that might include talking, writing, drawing, visualisations or movement. We will work together in a way that suits you best.

I provide a confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns. In my practice I use a range of techniques, depending on what works best for you. This might include talking, writing, drawing, visualisations or movement.

What does it involve?

Prior to our first session, I will ask you to complete an assessment form, to decide what kind of counselling you would like, and to agree to a counselling contract.

I offer different options, depending on your needs and budget:

  • twice a week, weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions
  • different length sessions, from half an hour to 1.5 hours per session

I also offer single session therapy. This may be suitable for you if you wish to work through a very specific issue. I would suggest opting for a 1.5 hour session if this is your choice, however, this is not mandatory and we can discussion your options.

How much does it cost?

Instead of asking for a set fee as the majority of therapists do, I offer a sliding scale, similar to common practice in many yoga retreats. This is with the aim of making therapy more accessible financially to a wider range of people.

When you are ready to start therapy, I will ask you what you wish to pay between the scales listed below. If you want to make a change to your fee, within the scale – higher or lower, at any time – I would ask you to notify me via email, giving one week’s notice. I will send your invoice in accordance with whatever fee you select.

Session fees for remote therapy, in-person sessions at my office, or outdoors therapy in and around Bromma, Hässleby and Järfälla are as follows:

  • 750-1,000 SEK for a 30-minute session
  • 1,000 to 2,000 SEK for a 50-minute session
  • 1,500 to 3,000 SEK for a 90-minute session

For outdoor sessions in central Stockholm (by special request, limited availability – I do not offer half hour sessions for this):

  • 1,500 to 2,500 for a 50-minute session
  • 2,000 to 3,500 for a 90-minute session

If you have any questions or would like to book the first session, please complete the web form on this page.
